The European Crystallographic Association (ECA) and the University of Oviedo invite the world-wide crystallographic community (and all scientists and students working in any related field) to an intensive session of working together and learning crystallography from each other.
The Second Edition of the European Crystallography School Series (ECS2) will be held in the University Campus Mieres (Asturias, Spain) , 31st August- 5th September 2015. The model for this second ECS will be inspired on that of the first ECS currently held in Pavia (Italy), in particular seeking support from the European Programs to allow academic transferability and financial support for students and teachers. Similarly to ECS1, the number of accepted students will be about 90 to be closely interacting with a panel of 15 teachers, all of them experienced senior crystallographers.
Under the title, Crystallography: Fundamentals, Online Tools and Applications, the School will gather contributions of outstanding crystallographers, including Nobel Prize Awardees in Crystallography, to discuss and give answers to the current new and challenging requirements of the crystallography in science, technology, education and advanced training during the 2nd century of modern crystallography.
